Job summary

MAA is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician to service and repair apartment homes and common areas. You will diagnose and fix HVAC systems, electrical fixtures, plumbing, and carpentry while maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule and ensuring spaces are ready for move-in.

The role requires EPA Type II or Universal certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days), HVAC experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification required within hire date or 90 days.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license from state of residence required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain apartments and property facilities to ensure good working order.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units and electrical/plumbing issues.
• Prepare apartments for move-in and follow preventative maintenance schedule.

Apartment Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repair to ensure apartment homes and other property facilities are in good working order. Responsibilities include preparing apartments for move-in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units; electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures; plumbing, carpentry, and locks. The Maintenance Technician follows a planned preventative maintenance schedule and follows up with residents after repairs are complete.

Qualifications

• One to three years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance and/or mechanical repair
• HVAC experience required
• EPA Type II or EPA Universal required at hire or within 90 days of start date
• Valid driver’s license from the state of residence
