Job summary

Grubb Properties is seeking a full-time Residential Building Service Technician for Link Apartments® QPN in Long Island City, NYC. The role covers HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and occupancy readiness, reporting to the Property Manager.

Two schedules are available, with a focus on preventative maintenance, safety, and resident relations. Candidates should be able to work evenings/weekends and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in building maintenance or property management.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and carpentry.
• HVAC certification or willingness to obtain a Certified Pool Operator license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
• Prepare vacant units, perform painting, cleaning, and occupancy prep.
• Leave written explanations of work performed in each unit.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-kept community; interact with residents.
• Assist with pool and pool-area maintenance and chemical levels.
• Complete work orders within 24 hours and follow safety policies.
• Participate in 24-hour emergency call duties with the team.
• Support on-site maintenance and equipment upkeep.
