Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician to perform repairs across appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and outdoor facilities. You will respond to after-hours emergencies and prepare vacant units for rent.

The role includes maintaining inventory, assisting residents, and handling administrative tasks related to service requests and vendor performance. The position requires 1–3 years of maintenance experience, refrigeration certification, a valid driver’s

Qualifications

• 1–3 years maintenance experience in residential or related facilities.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Refrigeration certification Type II or Universal required or within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and clean record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move 100–300+ lbs on wheels.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests for appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, gates, pools, and facilities.
• Respond to emergency calls during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prepare vacant units to be rent-ready.
• Maintain shops and inventory; keep amenity areas clean and operational.
• Provide resident support with professional communication and event assistance.
• Handle admin tasks such as logging service requests and vendor monitoring.
