We are seeking a proactive and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at a newly constructed property in McHenry. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the comfort, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our residential community by performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and preventative tasks. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates smoothly, creating a welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. Duties

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation.
• Perform repairs on electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, and mechanical devices using hand tools and specialized testing equipment such as ohmmeters.
• Troubleshoot issues; repair or replace faulty components with precision.
• Carry out carpentry tasks including drywall repairs, door/window adjustments, and maintenance painting to uphold property aesthetics.
• Handle projects involving welding, electrical work, or building interior upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to resident maintenance requests and communicating clearly about repair timelines.
• Support team efforts in maintaining safety protocols during all maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in residential or facilities maintenance with a strong mechanical background.
• Knowledge of electrical work, plumbing system maintenance and repair, HVAC system troubleshooting and repair, and carpentry skills.
• Familiarity with schematics, electrical equipment repair, and the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, and ohmmeters.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints confidently.
• Strong communication skills for effective resident interaction and team collaboration.
• Certifications related to electrical work or HVAC systems are advantageous; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
