Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking a dedicated Apartment Maintenance Technician to help keep our community in top condition. You will assist with maintenance requests, perform routine and preventative work, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities include preparing vacants for move-in, maintaining common areas and equipment, and documenting service requests. A valid driver's license and refrigeration certification are preferred; 1–3 years' experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years maintenance experience (apartment maintenance preferred).
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required.
• Refrigeration certification desirable; obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance requests and preventive maintenance for the apartment community.
• Complete work orders for appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and pool operations.
• Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls as needed.
• Prepare vacant apartments for rent-ready status.
• Maintain cleanliness and inventory of the maintenance shop.
• Enter service requests and updates into the database.
• Monitor contractor performance and support the Maintenance Manager.
