Job summary

Desert Mountain Club is seeking an Irrigation Technician to join the Agronomy team in Scottsdale, AZ. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and monitoring all facets of the golf course irrigation system, including pumps, piping, and valves.

The candidate will work under supervision, with opportunities to grow in a premier private club environment. Ideal applicants have at least one year of golf course maintenance experience and familiarity with basic irrigation practices.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in golf course maintenance and familiarity with basic irrigation practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and repairing complex irrigation systems.
• Hand water the golf course as directed by supervisors.
• Read water flow meters and monitor system performance.
• Repair broken pipes and swing joints; perform preventive maintenance on valves and screens.
• Adjust head spacing and spray angles to ensure proper turf irrigation.
• Maintain drainage systems and assist with other irrigation-related tasks.

Full-Time, Part-Time, Seasonal).JOB DETAILSResponsibilities:Assist Manager or Irrigation Technician II in maintaining and performing repairs on complex irrigation (automatic) systems.Hand waters golf course as directed by supervisors.Perform technical tasks and manual labor involved in maintaining and repairing golf course irrigation systems.Operate and maintain pumping equipment.Read water flow meters.Repair broken pipe and swing joints.Perform preventive maintenance on Cla-valves, PRV screens (including pressure settings).Change head spacing for more effective water distribution.Raise or lower irrigation heads as required.Monitor and reset angle of spray on part-circle heads so that only turf is irrigated.Maintain drainage systems and equipment.Other duties as assigned by supervisors and management.Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:Required to stand and walk – FrequentlyRequired to lift and/or push and/or pull up to 80 pounds – OccasionallyAbility to drive a motor vehicle – FrequentlyRequired to work in an outdoor working environment – ConstantlyExposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather – RegularlyRequired to work in trenches to repair pipes in uncomfortable positions and confined spaces - RegularlyReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.OUR COMPANYDesert Mountain Club is one of the nations premier private clubs, located in the scenic foothills of North Scottsdale, Arizona.
