Job summary

Airwallex is seeking an experienced Risk Operations Leader to drive APAC merchant risk programs and protect the platform at scale. You will own end-to-end operational performance, SLAs, and key risk processes while partnering with product, engineering, and legal teams.

You’ll lead a cross-functional team, champion automation and AI, and shape risk tooling to support rapid growth while maintaining rigorous controls and compliance across global operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in payments/fintech/acquiring with 3+ years people management.
• Deep expertise in merchant risk: credit and fraud risk; brand risk management.
• Proven track record managing senior ICs across multi-location teams.
• Ability to operate fast in ambiguity, set priorities and drive outcomes.
• Desire to learn about new payment trends and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead APAC Merchant Risk Operations team for Payments.
• Own end-to-end operational performance for APAC merchant risk operations, including SLAs and metrics.
• Oversee design and execution of merchant monitoring and escalation workflows across APAC.
• Partner with legal, risk and compliance to implement new policies and controls.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to evolve risk tooling and analytics.
• Champion automation and AI to improve decision speed and accuracy while maintaining control.
