Job description

  • Accounts Payable Specialist at a Growth-Oriented Energy Company
  • You will play a key role in understanding and improving all types of payables processes giving you exposure to several different regions and their associated processes
  • You will have the opportunity to learn and grow into new areas such as learning SAP (our financial ERP system), and PDI Technologies
  • Reporting to the Manager of Shared Services, this position will be responsible for accounts payable and interface regularly with two different ERP systems (PDI and SAP) ensuring the integrity of accounts payable information. As a valued member of the accounting department, this person will be required to communicate regularly to different levels of the refinery, retail, business office personnel, and vendors

Key activities include:

  • Drive the timely and accurate payment of invoices for our Hawaii refinery while processing accounts payable transactions
  • Be the on-site liaison between accounts payable and the Hawaii businesses for internal customers and external vendors
  • Provide solutions for payment issues and facilitate procurement related solutions
  • Provide a sense of urgency to all involved for payables related issues while influencing the users
  • Identify the root cause for payables issues and resolving inquiries while providing solutions to processes preventing reoccurrence
  • Complete account reconciliations ensuring the integrity of our balance sheet
  • Ensure consistent adherence to the company’s policy and procedures
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

  • High School Degree Required - associate degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant AP experience or shared service experience required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written required
  • Willingness to learn industry terminology required
  • Analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, including complex/compound spreadsheets preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • PDI experience preferred
