Job summary

BASIS Phoenix is seeking a qualified AP Psychology Teacher to join our team and start ASAP. The role focuses on delivering advanced psychology instruction aligned with BASIS Curriculum in a high-expectation environment.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, providing high-level instruction, collaborating with other BASIS teachers, tutoring students, managing behavior, and supporting non-instructional duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject matter (or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject matter with other degree)
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade specific lesson plans
• Provide subject instruction on a higher level than grade-standard in an interactive learning environment
• Implement the BASIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments
• Collaborate with BASIS Curriculum teachers to develop curriculum
• Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills
• Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement and personal responsibility
• Support non-instructional functions such as Early Bird, Late Bird, and lunch
• Maintain regular, full, predictable attendance
• Supervise individual students and groups of students
