Summary: We're partnering with a well-established structural steel fabricator in Phoenix to find an experienced AP/Payroll Admin to join their team. This is a great fit for someone with a blue-collar industry background (construction, manufacturing, or commercial real estate) who thrives wearing multiple hats — accounts payable, payroll, light HR, and office administration. What You’ll Own
- Review, code, and enter vendor and subcontractor invoices.
- Verify invoice documentation, purchase orders, and supporting records.
- Reconcile vendor statements and assist with payment processing activities.
- Collect, review, and process employee timekeeping and payroll information.
- Coordinate employee onboarding, personnel records, and employment documentation.
- Track PTO, attendance, certifications, and required HR records.
- Assist with recruiting coordination, interview scheduling, and applicant communications.
- Maintain office filing systems, supplies, and administrative records.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, correspondence, and visitor inquiries.
- Support management with reporting, data entry, and administrative projects.
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, payroll, HR, office administration, or a combination of these functions.
- Experience working in construction, manufacturing, commercial real estate, structural steel, or another blue-collar industry environment.
- Hands‑on experience processing payroll, including hourly labor workforces.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable processes and invoice management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience using accounting, payroll, ERP, or timekeeping systems.
- Ability to work onsite five days per week in a fast‑paced office environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with construction accounting or job‑costing systems.
- Experience using Foundations ERP.
- Familiarity with lien waivers, vendor compliance documentation, and certificates of insurance.
- Experience supporting workers’ compensation, benefits administration, or HR compliance activities.
- Bilingual Spanish-English communication skills.
- Experience processing payroll for both office and field/fabrication employees.
- Associate degree or additional coursework in accounting, business administration, human resources, or a related field.
