Qualifications

• 2-3 years legal experience required.
• Prior litigation experience preferred.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana, or eligible for Indiana licensure, required

Responsibilities

• Assesses facts and law to recommend disposition of complaints alleging unfair, abusive, or deceptive acts against consumers.
• Reviews pertinent decisions, policies, regulations, and other legal matters pertaining to cases.
• Maintains caseload of investigation and litigation cases addressing violations of state and federal consumer protection laws, with emphasis on competition law.
• Reviews pre-merger notices submitted to the Office of the Indiana Attorney General pursuant to Ind. Code § 25-1-8.5.
• Handles all phases of litigation, including research, preparation of court papers, discovery, and trials.
• Advises other Office of Attorney General Divisions and State agencies about consumer protection issues and laws.
• Coordinates enforcement efforts with other State Attorneys General Offices and regulators.
• Interacts with the public to educate Indiana consumers about protection issues.
