Katy Independent School District is seeking a Crossing Guard to provide safety for pedestrians in the designated school zone. Position is part-time and involves two sessions daily at $15 per session, with 173 duty days.
Responsibilities include directing pedestrian and vehicle traffic, maintaining a visible adult presence, and reporting unsafe practices to school staff and the Katy ISD Police Department. Training is provided as needed.

Pay Grade: Fixed Rate - $15.00/session, 2 sessions per day
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (Preferred)
Must be dependable and responsible
Possess the sensitivity and maturity to work effectively with children
Must be able to be at assigned location from 6:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (dependent upon the school zone times) and be available at other times related to early dismissal
Must be able to successfully complete a crossing guard training course
Primary Purpose:
Under limited supervision, provide guidance, protection, and safety to all pedestrians within the designated school zone and crossing.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Continuous walking and standing. Exposure to vehicle exhaust. Works outside and is exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
