Qualifications

• Must be dependable and responsible.
• Possess the sensitivity and maturity to work effectively with children.
• Must be able to be at assigned location from 6:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (dependent upon school zone times).
• Must be able to successfully complete a crossing guard training course.

Responsibilities

• Assist all pedestrians in safely crossing main thoroughfares within a designated school zone.
• Direct the flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic as appropriate within the designated school zone.
• Establish and maintain an ongoing working relationship with campus administrators and staff.
• Provide a general and consistent adult presence at school crossings.
• Notify campus administrators of unsafe practices by students.
• Inform the Katy ISD Police Department of unsafe operations of vehicles in the crossing areas.
