Job summary

Elanco Animal Health is seeking a Research Scientist to join the Discovery Research team. The role focuses on single-B-cell antibody discovery using advanced sequencing and immune library construction to identify candidate antibodies for animal health.

You will work across end-to-end workflows, from cell isolation to data integration, contributing to early biologics pipelines and cross-functional collaborations within a dynamic research environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Biotechnology.
• Direct, hands-on experience with Single B-cell sequencing workflows and high-speed flow cytometry (FACS).
• Experience with NGS library preparation and molecular biology techniques.
• Experience in Immune Library construction and display technologies.
• Advanced proficiency in high-throughput PCR and molecular cloning.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end single-B-cell antibody discovery campaigns, including cell processing, FACS isolation, single-cell sequencing, and recovery of paired V-region sequences.
• Design and construct high-diversity immune libraries from immunized animals and implement NGS workflows for library characterization.
• Manage panning and selection strategies using phage or yeast display to isolate rare, high-affinity antibodies.
• Perform molecular rescue and cloning to recover heavy and light chain variable regions from single cells.
• Integrate large-scale NGS data with bioinformatics pipelines to identify novel antibody lineages.
