Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Antepartum Registered Nurse, you will assess patients, develop and evaluate care plans, and provide care for antepartum maternal patients, including non-critical and critical cases. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, accurate care.

* Conduct and document patient assessments at admission.

* Develop, revise, and evaluate care and discharge plans.

* Document nursing interventions and patient responses.

* Transcribe physician orders accurately.

* Provide educational materials to patients and families.

* Communicate significant patient information to physicians and supervisors.

* Administer medications and treatments per hospital policy.

* Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff appropriately.

* May care for OB/GYN, immediate delivery, postpartum patients, and transitioned newborns.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN.
  • Experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current Texas RN license or Compact license (must obtain Texas license within 90 days if Compact).
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS required.
  • NRP required.
  • RNC-OB certification preferred.
