Job description

Join the LDRP group at Mercy South - this is a collaborative group of RN's who are looking to add a PRN coworker for the care of labor and delivery patients and their newborns. The ideal candidate for this role MUST have experience in Labor and Delivery.

Schedule: 7p-7:30am,Nights

SHIFT REQUIREMENT: Three shifts in 6 weeks, one being on a weekend. 2 holidays.

Labor and Delivery

Our Patients

  • Moderate to high-risk patients in the labor and delivery population over 32 weeks gestation
  • Obstetrical Emergency Department
  • Vaginal and C-Section Deliveries and Postpartum care
  • Antepartum patients

What We Do

  • We collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based care of laboring and c-section patients as well as OB ED and antepartum patients.

Our Floor

  • 19 bed unit serving Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Well Newborn, and Antepartum patients
  • 3 bed OB Emergency Department
  • OB Hospitalist, dedicated CRNA on the unit 24 hr/7 days a week
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner on the unit 24 hr./7days a week
  • Mercy South has a Level 2 NICU adjacent to LDRP and OB ED
  • Fresh renovations complete in 2023

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
  • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
  • Physical requirements/demands: - Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)- BLS (Basic Life Support)- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment &Care Modules- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)- Other unit specific certifications as required
