Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Senior Hardware Development Engineer for Antenna Systems in Redmond. You will design and optimize antenna system blocks, prototype next-gen antennas, collaborate on RF circuitry, and create automated test systems and fixtures for factory testing.

The role includes bring-up and test campaigns of active antennas, and you will lead PCB layout reviews while leveraging your experience in board-level analog/digital design and high-speed SERDES

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of industrial experience especially board level analog/digital design.
• 3+ years of high-speed digital design, multi-gigabit SERDES, signal and power integrity.
• 3+ years of using schematic
• 2+ years of using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters.
• Experience with Mentor Graphics or Cadence layout tools.

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimisation of different blocks of antenna systems

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
• BS degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of industrial experience especially board level analog/digital design
• 3+ years of experience in high-speed digital design, multi-gigabit SERDES, signal and power integrity
• 3+ years of experience in using schematic
• 2+ years of experience using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
• Experience with Mentor Graphics or Cadence layout tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
• Experience with the project management of technical projects
• Masters of Science or PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering
• Familiarity with analog electronic fundamentals (transistor circuits, op-amps, filters, etc)
• Experience in design, implementation, bring up and debugging of proof of concept HW and prototypes
• Familiarity with power supply design
• Proficiency in developing programs for instrument control
• Previous work experience in a programming language

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
