Job summary

Axillon is seeking an experienced electronic antenna assembler in the Baltimore area. Under minimal supervision, you will build, wire, test, and calibrate delicate antenna systems and electromechanical subassemblies by following precise engineering blueprints and schematics.

You will use precision instruments, hand and power tools, and equipment to mount components, perform fine hand-soldering and crimping, and interpret complex drawings and BOMs.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED with 5 years hands-on electronic or electromechanical production assembly.
• Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Good verbal communication and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts according to process sheets and instructions.
• Mount components onto antenna substrates using hand/power tools.
• Perform precision soldering and crimping on wires and boards.
• Interpret BOMs and schematics.
• Test functionality with multimeters, signal generators, and VNAs.
• Align and calibrate antenna hardware to tight tolerances.
• Conduct mechanical tests to verify bond integrity.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

Position Summary

With minimum supervision, perform functions related to electronic antenna assembly, for example, builds, wires, tests, and calibrates delicate antenna systems and electromechanical subassemblies by following precise engineering blueprints and schematics. Will be utilizing precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment. Must be available to work overtime and occasional Saturdays.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Works from process sheets or verbal instructions identifying the type and sequence of operations needed to construct a variety of parts to meet contractual requirements.
• Mount and secure electronic and mechanical components onto antenna substrates or frames using hand tools, power tools, and epoxies.
• Perform fine precision hand-soldering and crimping on delicate wires, cables, connectors, and circuit boards.
• Interpret complex assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOM).
• Check functionality using basic and advanced tools like multimeters, signal generators, or vector network analyzers.
• Align and calibrate antenna hardware to tight tolerances, troubleshooting and fixing defects as needed.
• Performs structural testing utilizing mechanical test equipment to verify bond line integrity.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Education Level: (Required): High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in hands on electronic or electromechanical production assembly

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
