Job summary

Atlas in Phoenix, AZ seeks a dedicated electronics assembler to prepare and stage components, ensure ESD compliance, and deliver assemblies that meet time standards with minimal rework. You will create wire harnesses and mechanical sub-assemblies under engineering guidance.

The role requires IPC-610/IPC-620/J-STD-001 certifications and the ability to read and follow complex work instructions. A high school diploma and related experience are preferred.

• Identify visual defects before testing and shipment.

Overview

Position Summary:Responsible for the assembly of any job that requires electronics prior to shipping. To work closely with the department lead to ensure that all of our customers' needs are being met. And, to make sure that all components and hardware are properly staged for assembly process.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of ESD Operating Procedures: handling, cleaning, storage
• Use and understanding of Work instructions (Electronic or written)
• Fabrication of basic wire harness and Electro-mechanical assemblies meeting a min of 80% of Time Standards and with less than 30% rework of all assemblies.
• Mechanical Assembly of Basic Chassis Builds: MRC Cabinets and Mini Cabinets.
• Become at least 65% cross trained within the department.
• Mechanical assembly of complex Chassis builds.
• First Article build under engineering direction.

Knowledge & Skills

• 1. Must be proficient in solderless Wire Wrap process (Interconnect Builds, conformal Coating Process skills, fabrication of complex wire harnesses, and/or advanced Solder skills.
• 2. Use of basic crimp tools and techniques.
• 3. Use of basic wire strip tools and techniques.
• 4. Basic skills in soldering.
• 5. The application of solder splices, wire twist, wire harness dressing (forming and lace tie, use of a Circuit Probe Technical Multimeter and Milliohm Meter.
• 6. Use and understanding of Work instructions (electronic or written).
• 7. Ability to recognize visual defects in workmanship prior to test
