Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC is seeking workers to program equipment per production orders and procedures, load and move material using a crane, and monitor annealing processes. You will cut samples, verify hardness and surface conditions, and move material to the next stage with forklifts or cranes.

The role requires familiarity with safety rules, measurement tools, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Join a team focused on quality and efficient production in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • Ability to use tape measures, Rockwell tester, micrometers and calipers.
  • Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements.
  • Ability to operate equipment programmers.
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule, and project production schedules.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with Forklift and Crane training/certification.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Program equipment based on production orders and programming procedures.
  • Load, unload, and stack material inside the heating chamber using an overhead crane.
  • Monitor annealing operation and adjust heating and cooling units as required.
  • Cut any required samples based on production instructions and standard practice.
  • Maintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying hardness, camber and surface conditions before and after heat treatment.
  • Identify and move material to next process area using forklift and/or overhead crane.
  • Assist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions or complete preventative maintenance as necessary.
  • Communicate non-compliance or quality problems to supervisor and/or shift lead.
  • Clean and maintain housekeeping of annealing building.

Job description

Here’s what is needed to be successful:
  • Ability to use tape measures, Rockwell tester, micrometers and calipers
  • Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with all Forklift and Crane training/certification
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
