SPCA Tampa Bay Florida Inc. in Largo is seeking a full-time Animal Welfare & Intake Counselor to join our dedicated operations team. Your role will involve providing daily care for shelter animals, assisting adopters, and supporting pet surrender processes.

We’re looking for a full‑time Animal Welfare & Intake Counselor to join our animal shelter. As part of the operations team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference within the community!

What you’ll do:

• Provide daily care for shelter animals, including cleaning, feeding, and maintaining kennels.
• Perform physically demanding work such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Assist adopters in finding the right companion.
• Serve as a supportive point of contact for individuals surrendering pets.
• Collect accurate behavioral and medical histories during intake.
• Provide compassionate guidance regarding relinquishment and humane euthanasia options.
• Collaborate with medical and animal welfare teams to ensure smooth intake.
• Obtain Humane Euthanasia Technician certification within 6 months (training provided).
