Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks an Animal Care Attendant to provide care, feeding, and transportation of laboratory animals. You will monitor health, perform daily checks, and help maintain cleanliness and safety in quarantine or barrier areas.

Under supervision, you will ensure welfare and compliance with SOPs, assist with handling of various species, and maintain accurate records. Weekend work may be required as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred: Previous experience in animal caretaking.

Responsibilities

• Review, comprehend, and comply with SOPs and quality assurance standards.
• Monitor daily animal health and welfare; perform health observations and daily animal husbandry duties.
• Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of animal species as assigned by the on-site Supervisor.
• Receive, identify, and house selected animal species; maintain related records and packing/unpacking for transport.
