Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive healthcare services to small animals, primarily dogs, under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
• Conduct regular health assessments, administer medication, and perform minor surgical procedures.
• Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various animal diseases and injuries.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
• Educate pet owners on preventive healthcare and general animal welfare.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with the latest advancements in animal healthcare.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in animal care, preferably in an animal hospital or animal clinic setting.
• Certified as an Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician.
• Bachelors degree in Animal Science or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience with small animals, particularly dogs.
• Comprehensive knowledge of animal health and diseases.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex medical information to pet owners.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care.
• Must be comfortable with handling various types of animals and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
