The Animal Technician (AT) supports the research programs of UCSF by providing daily care and technical support for laboratory animals. Under the supervision of the Animal Resources Supervisor or lead, the AT performs duties aligned with the scope of Assistant Animal Technicians, ensuring proper animal care, identifying and reporting problems, and supporting research activities.

The Laboratory Animal Resource Center (LARC) manages the care of various laboratory animals, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include cage changing, feeding, maintaining equipment, record-keeping, and supporting animal health surveillance across multiple UCSF facilities.
