Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience in office practices and processes.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license required.
  • Notary Public license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary contact for counter traffic and telephone communications; explains policies and procedures to the public and answers routine questions.
  • Serves as primary contact for Animal Control Officers in the field, communicating mission, location and status by radio dispatch while maintaining the officer log.
  • Performs routine and non-routine administrative tasks.
  • Performs adoptions, animal in-processing and license sales with forms, fees, receipts and computer entries.
  • Secures all cash and non-cash payments and balances cash drawer.
  • Assists with handling animals during adoptions and in-processing when needed.
  • Staff special adoption events off-site and outside regular hours.
  • Prepares certified mail, takes messages, and performs other clerical duties; attends meetings and trainings.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature as assigned.
