Job summary

Altasciences in Everett, WA is seeking an Animal Research Technician for the DART team to support fertility and developmental studies in rats and rabbits. You will perform observations, dosing, and sample collection while ensuring strict adherence to GLP protocols.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED (BS preferred) with 1–3 years of lab animal experience, especially gestational models. Collaboration with veterinary and operations teams is essential, with relocation support available.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required; BS/BA preferred.
  • 1–3 years’ experience with laboratory animals in a research setting.
  • Experience with gestational animal models and/or reproductive toxicology procedures required.
  • Proficiency handling rats and/or rabbits and performing research procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support fertility, embryo-fetal development (EFD), and pre/postnatal development studies in rats and rabbits.
  • Perform animal observations, dosing, biological sample collection, and study procedures.
  • Assist with anesthesia, sedation, catheter placement, and reproductive assessments.
  • Conduct fetal collections, tissue collection, necropsy activities, and developmental evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate study documentation in compliance with GLP regulations, protocols, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with Study Directors, Veterinary Services, and Operations teams.
  • Support multiple studies while maintaining high standards of animal welfare and data integrity.
