Colleton County Government is seeking an Animal Care Technician to oversee the health and wellbeing of animals in its care. Under supervision, responsibilities include medical assessment, medications, vaccines, housing, and record-keeping for medical exams and procedures.

Weekend and holiday availability required, with background check and drug screening. The role supports adoptions, behavior evaluation, and coordination with staff and rescues. Equal opportunity employer.

• Perform medical assessment and basic care for animals in shelter custody.
• Feed, clean, monitor health, and administer routine medications and vaccines as directed.
• Record medical exams and procedures accurately in the system.
• Assist with housing changes, surgeries, and other procedures as needed.
• Promote healthy pets on adoption or rescue sites and coordinate with staff on behavior and health concerns.
• Assist adopters with pet introductions and support transfers to other rescue/shelter organizations.
