Job summary

SeaWorld is seeking enthusiastic Ambassadors to join the SeaWorld Diagnostic Lab team. You will perform hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and related analyses to support veterinarians and curators in animal health management and research.

Responsibilities include handling samples, maintaining records, and assisting training. You will work 16–24 hours per week, with on-site duties and opportunities to grow in a dynamic, animal-centered environment.

Qualifications

• ASCP Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician is required.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic lab analyses for various animal species; training provided.
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and QC processes is preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analyses in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, mycology, parasitology, urinalysis, cytology and water analysis.
• Identify abnormal results and recommend potential solutions.
• Maintain laboratory records and data entry in the established system.
• Prepare and process samples for animal care research projects.
• Label, transport, and ship clinical and research samples.
• Maintain laboratory and pharmacy equipment and supplies; assist training of staff.
