The Animal Control Deputy is a Florence County SC position responsible for enforcing animal control laws, conducting investigations, and assisting in animal welfare efforts. You will patrol, respond to calls, issue citations, manage reports, testify in court, and maintain equipment while upholding safety and public health standards.

The role requires 21+ years, a valid SC drivers license, a high school diploma, and completion of Class III Advanced certification within one year.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid SC drivers license.
• High school diploma required.
• Complete Class III Advanced certification within one year.
• Pass extensive background investigation including polygraph.
• Read and comprehend police/technical information.
• Document incidents accurately using standard forms and software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsabilités

• Patrol Florence County to enforce animal control laws.
• Respond to service calls and dispatch requests.
• Investigate complaints and issue tickets.
• Set traps for stray animals and supervise traps.
• Assist in animal cruelty investigations.
• Notify DHEC of bites and quarantines.
• Maintain reports and testify in court.
• Provide First Aid and CPR when needed.
• Maintain vehicle and participate in training.
• Explain rabies vaccination importance.
