Job summary

City of Clovis is seeking an Animal Services Officer to enforce animal regulations, assist with care and adoption, license animals, and perform capture and release of wild animals as needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus six months of experience with dogs, cats, and/or farm animals. Desirable: college coursework in animal science; CA driver’s license with good record. On-call and weekend shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from high school and attending college, or planning to attend college.
• Six months minimum of experience working with dogs, cats, and/or farm animals.
• Desirable: college level coursework in animal science.

Responsibilities

• Perform animal control functions including regulations enforcement, licensing, care and adoption.
• Capture and release of wild animals as required.
• Work under supervision and refer non-conforming matters to supervisor.
• Maintain records and ensure safety procedures are followed.
