University Animal Care at the University of Arizona is seeking an Animal Technician II to support laboratory animal care and welfare on the Tucson campus. The role involves routine husbandry, cage maintenance, and coordination with veterinary and compliance staff to ensure daily operations meet standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and follow protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate animal husbandry and cage maintenance per protocols.
• Carry out basic breeding tasks and wean litters.
• Follow biosafety, sanitation, and safety procedures for compliance.
• Observe animals and report health concerns to veterinary staff.
• Administer routine meds and maintain documentation.
• Operate autoclaves and laminar flow hoods as required.
• Record housing and procedural data accurately.
• Coordinate with research, veterinary, and compliance teams.
