Job summary

Harvard University seeks an Animal Care Assistant to support daily cage preparation and maintenance in the animal facilities. You will disassemble, load, and reassemble cage components, operate cage wash machines and sterilizers, and maintain clean and safe work areas in a 7.5-hour shift.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work around animals with appropriate PPE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with animals and wear PPE as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clean cages for daily use in animal facilities.
• Disassemble and reassemble cage components; load/unload into cage wash machines and sterilizers.
• Perform general cleaning and preventative maintenance of cages, wash machines, and work areas.
• Follow supervisor directions and perform other duties as assigned.
