In this role you?ll provide basic care and sanitation for research animals, common duties include but not limited to;

  • Clean feeders, water bottles, animal caging, and other items.
  • Cleans and sanitize animal rooms or pens, hallways, stairways, and non-animal rooms.
  • Learns to observe animals for general health and general animal room standards.
  • Maintains well documented laboratory records
  • Operates and performs quality control checks on appropriate equipment.
  • Changes animal racks.
  • Provides clean waste removal system and changes air filters.
  • Set up housing and provide feed and water.
  • Dispense feed for use in animal studies.
  • Reports all animal care concerns and becomes involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action when necessary.

What we offer?

  • Day time work hours Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:30pm requires working every 3rd weekend both Saturday and Sunday,d
  • Great growth opportunity, once fully trained around 6 months .50 increase and opportunity to be promoted to Animal Care Tech II and Senior Animal Care Tech

What we look for?

  • Preferred by not required prior experience in working with animals in laboratory, farming, kennel, etc.
  • HS Diploma preferred, work experience may qualify in lieu of education
  • Prior stable work history and passion for animals
  • Basic computer skills including ability to use a mouse and enter information

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
