Job description

Piper Companies is currently looking for an experienced Animal Care Technician in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA) to work with a leading Philadelphia academic institution.

Responsibilities for the Animal Care Technician include:

  1. Perform daily animal husbandry duties such as health check, cage changing, and waste disposal.
  2. Oversee laboratory sanitation and environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature.
  3. Assist in basic veterinary care for animals housed within the vivarium.
  4. Oversee vivarium supplies and resources.
  5. Provide support to rodent breeding colonies.
  6. Maintain logs and research documentation in accordance with company standards.

Qualifications for the Animal Care Technician include:

  1. A minimum of 1 year of animal husbandry experience.
  2. Technical capabilities with animal breeding, tissue sampling, harvesting, collection, and rodent mouse models.
  3. HS Diploma or BS in a biology-related field required.

Compensation for the Animal Care Technician includes:

  1. Salary range is dependent upon experience.
  2. Comprehensive benefits package.
