POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Animal Care Technicians provide care for puppies’ nutritional, behavioral, environmental, and maintenance needs.
• Performs opening, daily, and closing procedures in the kennel.
• Completes procedural cleaning checklists to ensure maximum cleanliness and maintains cleanliness standards.
• Monitors the health of all puppies and kittens daily and assists in keeping proper records.
• Ensures proper pet nutrition, socialization, and cleaning are handled according to expectations.
• Assists the store veterinarian with puppy and kitten examinations and provides care and medications as prescribed.
• Selected and properly trained “key holders” assist with training and coaching less experienced Animal Care Technicians.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
