Job summary

The SPCA of Wake County seeks an Animal Care Manager to lead the Animal Care Team, oversee daily workflows, scheduling, coaching, and staff development at our Raleigh facility. You will drive continuous improvements in animal care, welfare, and operational efficiency, using KPIs and data to inform decisions and ensure mission-aligned outcomes.

Qualifications

• Requires supervisory experience in animal welfare or similar environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage staff and volunteers.
• Knowledge of animal welfare practices and humane handling.
• Ability to use data to drive improvements and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Animal Care Team and daily workflow, including scheduling and coaching.
• Develop and implement processes to improve animal flow and care quality.
• Monitor KPIs and use data to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with other departments to align with organizational goals.
• Lead staff training and performance management; address coaching needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, welfare, and operational standards.
