Prince George’s County Government's Department of The Environment is seeking a motivated Animal Care Attendant I/II to maintain kennels and ensure sanitary conditions at the animal services facility. This entry-level role involves cleaning, feeding, and daily care of shelter animals.

The position requires a High School diploma, six months of public-facing animal care experience, and a valid Class C driver’s license.

Responsabilidades

House animals safely and humanely in order to protect the animals, self, and others.
Examine animals to determine their sex, species, size, and age.
Monitor animals for signs of illness, injuries, and unusual physical and behavioral conditions.
Isolate animals as necessary.
Perform initial health assessments of animals arriving at the facility and administers routine vaccinations.
Assist veterinarians with wellness checks on animals.
Socialize and exercises shelter animals on a daily basis.
Perform other tasks and duties assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the position description; however, are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.
