Job summary

Mountain Humane in Hailey, Idaho, seeks a full-time Customer Service and Animal Care Provider to engage with the public and care for shelter cats. The role combines guest services with daily animal care to maintain a humane, safe environment.

You will guide adopters through applications, support office tasks, train volunteers, and help with the welfare and enrichment of animals in our care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in animal welfare, nonprofit operations, or customer service preferred
• Two years of experience in customer service, animal care, and/or nonprofit settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist visitors with impeccable customer service
• Communicate and listen with tact and empathy
• Provide information on Mountain Humane policies, values, mission, programs and events
• Direct all impounds and surrenders to management staff
• Work cooperatively with all volunteers and recognize the talent and commitment they bring to Mountain Humane
• Willingness and ability to learn about animal behavior to adequately match adopters with Mountain Humane’s animals
• Evaluate adopter lifestyles to match animals, and provide shelter-approved training techniques to adopters
• Answer phones, maintain shared trackers, and animal database records
• Assist with adoption folders, follow-up procedures and office duties
• Perform daily sanitation of cat areas and ensure animals are cared for with proper food, water, and exercise
• Monitor health and behavior and report to supervisor
• Support marketing activities, including animal handling for photo shoots
