Job summary

Foothills Humane Society Inc in Columbus, NC is seeking an Animal Care Attendant who is compassionate and dedicated to daily shelter care. You will feed, water, clean enclosures, monitor health, and assist with intake, transfers, and adoptions.

Qualifications

• Genuine love and respect for animals of all breeds and temperaments.
• Ability to safely handle dogs, cats, and small animals, including those that may be stressed or fearful.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform active, hands-on work throughout the day.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Previous animal care, veterinary, or shelter experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established care protocols.
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Assist with adoption meet and greets.
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors and volunteers.
• Maintain a professional demeanor.
• Assist with training of animals to further their adoptability.
