Job summary

Mitrelli Group is seeking an Import Manager to oversee end-to-end import operations in Angola, ensuring customs compliance and timely delivery to projects. The role requires hands-on Angola-specific expertise, supplier coordination, cost management, and team leadership to support EPC and infrastructure projects.

The candidate should have extensive experience with Angolan customs, HS codes, Incoterms, licenses and duties, and be fluent in Portuguese and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration or related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in import operations, international trade, customs clearance or international logistics.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in Angola managing import operations and customs clearance.
• 3+ years in a managerial or supervisory role, leading teams and coordinating logistics service providers.
• Strong knowledge of Angolan customs legislation, regulations and end-to-end customs clearance procedures.
• Experience managing sea and air imports, including customs documentation, HS Codes, Incoterms, licenses, duties and taxes.
• Experience managing customs brokers, freight forwarders and other logistics service providers, including supplier negotiations and performance monitoring.
• Proven experience in import cost control, budget monitoring, cost optimization and operational risk management.
• Experience supporting project-based operations, preferably in construction, EPC, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (mandatory).
• Must have Angolan nationality (mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Import Operations & Customs Compliance: manage the complete import process from documentation to customs clearance and delivery.
• Supplier & Logistics Management: oversee brokers, forwarders, carriers, and service providers; ensure service quality and costs.
• Cost Control & Performance Monitoring: track costs, variances, and delivery performance; provide updates to management.
• Team Leadership: lead the Import Department, set priorities, and develop staff.
