Job summary

The UW Medical Center-Montlake Anesthesiology Department has an outstanding opportunity for an Anesthesiology Technician 2. This full-time day-shift role supports the operating room team by preparing patients for surgery, monitoring vital signs, and assisting physicians with anesthesia equipment.

It covers patient ages from newborn to adult and benefits from a strong patient-care background such as EMT or Paramedic training.

Qualifications

• Associate of Arts Degree in Biomedical Electronics OR two years of post-secondary education/training in sciences with one year of electronics service experience.
• MA-Phlebotomy certification within the first three months of employment is required to perform duties.
• Experience or training in anesthesia support and patient monitoring is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot equipment used for patient care and monitoring related to anesthesia.
• Obtain blood samples and provide blood parameters to medical staff as directed.
• Examine patient vital signs, gather data from monitors, and assist in the operation of anesthesia devices.
• Observe patients post-procedure and support care from newborn to adult.
