Job summary

PAGNY seeks an Anesthesiologist – Pain Medicine to join NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health in New York. You will work in a united Department of Anesthesiology with strong leadership and a team approach to emergencies.

Focus on interventional pain procedures and anesthesia plans, mentored by senior staff, with a 7am–3pm schedule and about four overnight calls per month.

Qualifications

• Active or eligible for a NYS license.
• Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology (ABA).
• Board eligibility or certification in Pain Medicine (ABA).

Responsibilities

• Join a united, well organized Department of Anesthesiology with strong leadership.
• Lead perioperative processes in collaboration with surgeons and nursing staff.
• Focus on interventional procedures (nerve blocks, epidurals) and pain management plans.
• Work with modern anesthesia equipment for safe practice.
• Prepare and administer general and regional anesthesia and adjust as needed.
• Mentor and supervise trainees (interns, residents, fellows).
• Standard hours 7am-3pm with about 4 overnight calls per month.

Opportunity Details:

• Practice an expanded Anesthesia Care model, taking a leadership role in navigating perioperative process, in close friendly collaboration with surgeons and nursing staff.
• Focuson interventional procedures (nerve blocks, epidurals) and medication plans for chronic conditions.
• Our Department is armed with all required modern equipment for the safest practice of Anesthesia, including Video-Laryngoscopy, 2 SonoSite Ultrasound Machines for Vascular Cannulation and Regional Anesthesia, 2 Ambu FOB Systems with disposal scopes used in Thoracic Anesthesia and Difficult Airway management, FloTrack System for intraoperative hemodynamic management, AccuView vein finding system, etc.
• Prepareand administergeneral and regional anesthetics and pain medication, adjusting as needed before, during, and after surgery and other procedures.
• Performvenous and arterial punctures.
• Mentorand superviseanesthesiology interns, residents, and fellows.
• Standard hours are from 7am -3pm.
• Average of 4 overnight calls per month.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary:$421,000* (board eligible);$431,000* (board certified)based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated between$601,000** (board eligible)and$611,000** (board certified)which includes the baseline salary, fringe benefits, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

• Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***
• Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets
• 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
  • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required
  • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required
