Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Anesthesiologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. The practice offers leadership opportunities and typically handles around 300-360 OR cases per month, with fewer than 100 deliveries per month and an 80% labor epidural rate. The department includes MRI, IR, and an endoscopy/bronchoscopy suite. The hospital has three dedicated biomedical equipment techs and a 1:2 CRNA ratio. The hospital is academically affiliated with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Opportunity Details:

• Determines and prescribes anesthetics and procedures for various case types, including light pediatrics, obstetric, neuro, orthopedics, and plastics
• Advises anesthetists and surgeons in cases with complex patient factors
• Recommends suitable anesthesia, advises on dosages, and consults on post‑operative complications
• Reviews case histories and manages all matters pertaining to anesthesiology
• Lectures to and trains anesthetists, residents, and auxiliary staff; works daily with CRNAs, medical students, and residents

Qualifications

• A license to practice Medicine in the State of New York
• Experience in upper and lower extremity block placement preferred but not required
• Board eligible or certified in Anesthesiology

Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary: $252,600* (board eligible); $258,600* (board certified) based on 24‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated between $405,860** (board eligible) and $412,460** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, fringe benefits, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

• Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***
• Projected bonus of up to $24,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets
• 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
  • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required
  • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required
• Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement
