Job summary

The Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, seeks an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team by preparing equipment, assisting with procedures, and maintaining supplies for all ages.

You will work under anesthesiologists and CRNAs, ensuring a sterile, organized environment, troubleshooting equipment, and readiness for a variety of procedures while maintaining patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technician program preferred.
• 0-2 years of hospital or surgical setting experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of LVN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares anesthetizing locations by setting up, calibrating, and maintaining monitoring devices and anesthesia equipment.
• Assists anesthesia providers with aseptic techniques during procedures, including airway management and IV/arterial line placement.
• Monitors and reports abnormal changes in patient vital signs to anesthesia providers.
• Obtains and stocks anesthesia supplies in operating rooms and other procedural areas.
• Assists with laboratory tests and results, including ABGs and ACTs.
• Prepares, obtains, and delivers blood products and pharmaceuticals for the anesthesia team.
• Provides guidance to other technicians and team members as needed.
• Assists with patient transport, positioning, and monitor application under supervision.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and coordinates with repair departments.
• Maintains readiness for routine and emergency procedures as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
