Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technician program preferred
• College coursework in Biology, Physiology, Anatomy, or related fields preferred
• 0-2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician in hospital or surgical setting preferred
• 1-2 years of experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares anesthetizing locations by setting up, calibrating, and maintaining monitoring devices and anesthesia equipment for scheduled procedures.
• Assists anesthesia providers with aseptic or sterile techniques during procedures, including airway management and IV or arterial line placement.
• Monitors and reports abnormal changes in patient vital signs or physical appearance to anesthesia providers.
• Obtains and stocks anesthesia supplies in operating rooms and other procedural areas to ensure readiness.
• Assists with laboratory tests and results related to anesthesia care (e.g., ABGs, ACTs).
• Prepares, obtains, and delivers blood products and pharmaceuticals as requested by the anesthesia team.
• Provides guidance to other technicians and team members as needed.
• Assists with patient transport, positioning, and application of monitors under supervision.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance and complies with policies.
