Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the operating rooms by stocking supplies, assisting with cleaning, and ensuring clear communication among the anesthesia team, nurses, and physicians.

Under the guidance of the RN, you will help inventory, order, and stock anesthesia items, stock Pyxis medications, and participate in equipment evaluation and trials to maintain safe patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hospital experience.
• Knowledge of growth and development as pertinent to job duties.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inventory management, ordering and stocking of anesthesia supplies.
• Order anesthesia supplies from storeroom daily.
• Stock anesthesia supplies in operating rooms daily.
• Stock medications in Pyxis machines for pharmacy as needed.
• Clean and stock in operating rooms between cases.
• Report equipment problems to Biomed and Anesthesia as needed; assist with loaner equipment.
