Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team and prepare operating rooms for surgery in our Baltimore area facilities. You will assist anesthesia providers, ensure room readiness, and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities include daily equipment checks, inventory replenishment, and providing bedside care under the supervision of a registered nurse when required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years anesthesia technician experience preferred.
• CNA and CPR certifications preferred; ACLS preferred.
• One year of relevant professional-level work experience may substitute for one year of required education.

Responsibilities

• Assists the anesthesia provider in preparing patients for anesthesia.
• Maintains Anesthesia equipment and cleans gas machines, ventilators, and related tools.
• Inspects anesthetizing locations and ensures equipment and supplies are ready at start of shift.
• Transports blood and specimens to Laboratory and to OR/PACU as needed.
• May function as Care Associate/CNA providing direct bedside care under RN supervision.
