Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking an Anesthesia Technician PRN to support the anesthesia team and surgical staff. You will help prepare and organize equipment, set up carts, assist with patient transfers, and respond quickly to emergencies, ensuring a safe perioperative environment.

The role requires at least one year of experience and a High School Diploma or GED, plus Basic Life Support certification. We value patient privacy and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• One year experience as an Anesthesia Technician is required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize anesthesia equipment based on surgery schedules and needs.
• Set up, transport, and maintain anesthesia carts and equipment for readiness.
• Assist patients with transfers, positioning and monitoring device application.
• Act quickly and confidently in emergencies to support the team.
• Keep environment clean and safe following infection prevention practices.
• Communicate openly with patients and families while protecting privacy.
