Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin seeks a skilled Surgical Support Technician to assist in operating room setup, arterial line and catheter insertions, and monitoring during procedures. You will calibrate systems, handle data collection, and ensure equipment is clean, stocked, and ready for safe use.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, 1 year of relevant healthcare experience, and BLS certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

High School Graduate.
Typically requires 1 year of experience in a surgical, medical or related healthcare setting.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months (AHA) unless department leader determines it is not required.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer proficiency.
Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

Set up monitoring equipment in the operating room.
Assist during procedures with arterial line and catheter insertions, blood draws, ventilator checks, and operate monitor/recording systems.
Calibrate pressures and recording systems to ensure precise readings.
Assist in transfers and data collection.
Clean and stock non-disposable equipment; perform daily maintenance checks.
Move anesthesia equipment between suites and verify connections and gas safety.
Provide age-appropriate patient care according to department policies.
