Job Description

We are searching for an Anesthesia Technician II — The Anesthesia Tech II has specialized experience as an Anesthesia Technician and can provide support to the anesthesia providers and other members of the interdisciplinary team. This position is fully competent regarding anesthesia in all anesthetizing locations, supplies, and related equipment. The Anesthesia Tech II works independently and demonstrates the clinical skills necessary for assisting with anesthesia-related procedures, troubleshooting equipment regardless of anesthetizing location (e.g., OR, Cath lab, OB/GYN, CV). This position also serves as a mentor to other anesthesia techs by utilizing skills and knowledge to help train and orient new staff.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• BLS - Basic Life Support certification by the American Heart Association
• CER-A-T (American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians) OR an Associate's Degree from an approved anesthesia technician training program OR 5 years’ experience as an anesthesia technician in lieu of certification
• Technical Diploma - completion of an approved anesthesia technician training program
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an anesthesia technologist
• Cardiovascular experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with procedures, including preparation and placement of neurophysiologic monitors and assisting with induction and intubation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment and supplies, including invasive lines and monitoring devices.
• Prepare and set up anesthesia equipment, monitors, and airway devices tailored to patient age and procedure requirements.
• Transport patients, assist with invasive monitoring procedures, and respond to OR needs promptly.
• Ensure all anesthesia supplies and equipment are properly stocked, maintained, and organized.
• Supervise maintenance and inventory of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Maintain sterile supplies and ensure all equipment functions correctly and is within expiration dates.
